Unfortunately I was unable to go to the meeting about the proposed windfarm. I think we should do our bit in the fight against global warming, and I am in principle supportive of having one locally. Also, I think the turbines are quite attractive! (There are some scenic ones on the way to Skipton).



I think we should use the opportunity of having a windfarm in our back yard to negotiate other benefits for the communities in Whitley and Eggborough.  ...</description>

I attended the wind farm presentation on Monday. I went with a completely open mind and I have to say I was extremely impressed by the whole set up.



There is no doubt that something positive has to be done in order to combat global warming and ANY positive contribution to that end has to be taken seriously. To say that the Selby area makes a large enough contribution to the nation's energy pool seems to me to be very negative statement  ...</description>

We are strongly in favour of reducing Britain 's CO2 emissions and that means finding alternative means of generating electricity. Although we would also like to see more done to reduce demand, ie why does the Selby by-pass have to be lit up like Blackpool illuminations throughout the night?



But, we are sceptical about wind generation.
